Privacy Policy

This website ("Bernard "Bajdo" Vukas - official website", hereinafter: "the Site") is dedicated to preserving the memory of Bernard Vukas. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data is processed, for what purpose, on what legal basis, and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

1. Data Controller

The Data Controller for this Site is its administrator/owner. For any questions regarding the processing of personal data and the exercise of your rights, you may contact us using the contact details provided on the Site.

2. What data is processed

The Site does not require registration or directly collect visitors' personal data (e.g. there is no sign-up or newsletter form that would ask for your name, email or other identifying information), unless you voluntarily send it to us via the contact form.

Standard technical data (IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring website, date and time of access) is automatically recorded in server logs for security purposes, to prevent misuse, and for the technical maintenance of the Site. This data is not used for profiling or identifying individuals and is retained for a limited time.

3. Legal basis for processing

The processing of technical data is based on the controller's legitimate interest in ensuring the secure and functional operation of the Site (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR). Where cookies that are not strictly necessary for the operation of the Site are used, processing is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time.

4. Cookies

The Site uses the following types of cookies:

Strictly necessary cookies - The Site itself does not set any cookies. Your cookie choice (accepted or rejected) is saved in your device's browser local storage (localStorage), remains there, and is not sent to the server or to anyone else. The selected language is not stored in a cookie - it is visible in the page address itself (e.g. bajdo.hr/en/).

Third-party cookies - The site may use Google Analytics for anonymous visit statistics, and only after your consent. This service may set its own cookies in accordance with Google's privacy policy (available at policies.google.com/privacy). Translations into foreign languages are pre-made and stored on this Site - no external service is loaded or any cookies are set to display them.

You can delete or block cookies at any time via your browser settings, but this may affect the functionality of certain parts of the Site.

5. External content and third-party services

This Site may display content from YouTube (Google LLC). When you load such content, your data (such as your IP address) may be transferred to the provider of that service (Google LLC, USA) and processed in accordance with their own privacy policies, independent of this Site. Google is a participant in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which ensures an adequate level of protection for data transfers to the U.S.

The translations of the Site into English, German and Italian are generated in advance within the Site's administration, with the help of a machine translation service. Only the text of the Site itself is transferred on this occasion - no visitor data is included, nor is anything sent externally during your visit.

6. Data Retention Period

Technical server logs are kept for a maximum of 12 months, after which they are automatically deleted or anonymised. Data you voluntarily send us via the contact form is kept for as long as is necessary to resolve your query, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

7. Your rights

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access - request confirmation as to whether your data is being processed and to have access to it.
Rectification - request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Erasure ("right to be forgotten") - request the deletion of your data where there are legal grounds to do so.
Restriction of processing - request a restriction on how your data is processed.
Data portability - request that your data be provided to you in a structured, machine-readable format.
Objection - object to processing that is based on legitimate interest.
Withdrawal of consent - if the processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of the processing before the withdrawal.

To exercise these rights, please contact us using the contact details provided on the Site. We will respond to your request no later than one month.

8. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

If you believe that the processing of your personal data is not in accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP), Selska cesta 136, 10000 Zagreb, Croatia, www.azop.hr, or to a supervisory authority in the EU Member State in which you have your habitual residence.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data from unauthorised access, loss or misuse, including a secure (HTTPS) connection and restricted access to the Site's administrative system protected by a user account.

10. Children

The Site is not intended for children under 16 years of age and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes to this Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to align with legal changes or changes to the Site. The date of the last update will be stated at the bottom of this page. We recommend checking this policy periodically.
