On 1 May the 99th anniversary of the birth of Bernard "Bajda" Vukas, the legendary footballer for Hajduk, the Yugoslav national team and Italian side Bologna, was marked. A small gathering of family and long-standing admirers took place in Zagreb, where Vukas was born in 1927.
On this occasion, it was also announced that the digital family archive, available on this page, will continue to be enriched with new photographs and testimonies. The aim is to preserve the memory of a player whose career spanned three decades and several European clubs.
Next year, the full centenary of his birth will be marked with a larger celebration, with the participation of Hajduk and the Croatian Football Federation.
